The Demat Account That Charges Small Investors Nothing
BSDA charges zero annual maintenance up to ₹4 lakh in holdings, ₹100 between ₹4-10 lakh.
SEBI raised the eligibility ceiling from ₹2 lakh to ₹10 lakh from 1 September 2024.
You can hold only one BSDA across NSDL and CDSL, and it must be your only demat as sole/first holder.
Cross ₹10 lakh and it auto-converts to a regular account, with normal AMC kicking back in.
Most brokers won't switch you automatically — you usually have to ask in writing.
