Filming a Movie in a Theatre Can Now Get You 3 Years in Jail

Recording any part of a film inside a cinema is now a criminal offence, not just a copyright dispute.
Punishment runs from 3 months to 3 years jail, plus a fine of ₹3 lakh up to 5% of the film's audited production cost.
Section 6AA targets the person who records; Section 6AB targets anyone who hosts, streams or shows the pirated copy.
Watching or sharing a cam-rip on a Telegram channel can also draw you into the offence.
The same 2023 law scrapped the old A/U/UA tags for UA 7+, 13+ and 16+ ratings.
