Forgotten Island: DreamWorks Bets on Filipino Folklore, Not Fairy Tales

Forgotten Island is DreamWorks' new original animated film, in US cinemas 25 September 2026.
It is set in 1990s Philippines and built on Filipino mythology, not the usual fairy-tale template.
Singer H.E.R. and actor Liza Soberano lead, with Lea Salonga, Dolly de Leon and Jo Koy in support.
Directors Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado made the acclaimed Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
An India theatre date is still awaited; the first trailer landed in March 2026 to strong response.
