Stop Banks Cutting TDS on Your FD Interest: Form 15G and 15H

From FY2025-26 banks deduct TDS only once FD interest crosses ₹50,000 a year (₹1 lakh for senior citizens).
Form 15G is for those under 60; Form 15H is for senior citizens and has an easier eligibility test.
Submit the form at the start of the financial year and separately to every bank and branch.
Without PAN, TDS jumps to 20% and the form is invalid; PAN is mandatory.
If TDS is wrongly cut, the only way to get it back is to claim a refund in your ITR.
