India Holidays in June 2026: The Short List, State by State
June 2026 has just one near-national holiday: Muharram, expected on Friday 26 June (subject to moon sighting).
India runs two holiday lists — 'gazetted' (national) and 'restricted' (optional) — so your day off depends on your state and employer.
Raja Parba in Odisha (14–16 June) and YMA Day in Mizoram (15 June) are real days off only in those states.
Banks shut for the 2nd Saturday (13 June), 4th Saturday (27 June) and every Sunday, plus Muharram in most states.
World Environment Day (5 June) and Yoga Day (21 June) are observances, not holidays — nobody gets the day off.
