James Webb Finds Salt Clouds on the Pink Planet GJ 504b

JWST found salt clouds on GJ 504b, the first time salt has been key to reading an alien atmosphere.
The chloride and sulfide salts likely explain the world's strange rose-pink colour.
GJ 504b sits 57 light-years away and may be the coldest world ever directly photographed.
At ~25 times Jupiter's mass, nobody is sure if it's a giant planet or a small brown dwarf.
Webb captured its spectrum in about two hours, work that defeated ground telescopes for years.
