Webb Finds Salt Clouds Floating Over the 'Pink Planet'

JWST detected salt clouds in the atmosphere of GJ 504b, the famous 'Pink Planet' 57 light-years away.
Salt clouds were theorised over 15 years ago but had never been pinned to a specific cold world before.
Ground telescopes struggled for years; Webb captured the spectrum in roughly two hours.
Adding salt clouds finally made the object's puzzling light match the models.
Webb also found water vapour, methane, carbon dioxide and ammonia, plus a surprising load of heavy metals.
