Minions & Monsters: Everything About the 2026 Minions Movie

The new film is titled Minions & Monsters, the third standalone Minions movie and seventh in the Despicable Me universe.

It releases in US cinemas on July 1, 2026, after a world premiere at France's Annecy festival on June 21.

Set in 1920s Old Hollywood, the Minions try to make their own monster movie roughly 40 years before the 2015 film.

Pierre Coffin directs and voices the Minions; the cast includes Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg and Trey Parker.

It rides a franchise that has crossed $5 billion worldwide, so expect spectacle — and a familiar formula.
