Net Run Rate in Cricket: How NRR Actually Works

NRR = (runs scored ÷ overs faced) − (runs conceded ÷ overs bowled), tallied across the whole tournament.
If a team is bowled out, its full quota (50 or 20 overs) goes in the denominator, not the actual overs used.
Tournament NRR is cumulative, not the average of your per-match NRRs.
To lift NRR, chase quickly or restrict the opposition heavily — margin of runs and overs both matter.
Balls convert to decimals: 3 balls = 0.5 over, so 45.3 overs counts as 45.5.
