PAN-Aadhaar Link in 2026: Deadline, ₹1,000 Fee, Online Steps

The general linking deadline lapsed in 2023; an unlinked PAN is already inoperative and costs ₹1,000 to revive.

People who got PAN via Aadhaar enrolment ID before Oct 1, 2024 had until December 31, 2025 to link.

The late fee is ₹1,000 under Section 234H, paid via e-Pay Tax before you submit the link request.

An inoperative PAN blocks ITR filing, refunds and triggers higher TDS/TCS on your income.

Residents of Assam, Meghalaya, J&K/Ladakh, NRIs, those 80+ and non-citizens are exempt.
