Person of the Day: Mohan Charan Majhi, From Sarpanch to Odisha CM

Mohan Charan Majhi rose from a village sarpanch in 1997 to Odisha's 15th Chief Minister in 2024.

He is a four-time MLA from Keonjhar, winning in 2000, 2004, 2019 and 2024.

He started out teaching at a Saraswati Shishu Mandir before entering grassroots politics.

As CM he launched the Subhadra Yojana, disbursing over Rs 20,600 crore to women.

He is Odisha's first Chief Minister from the BJP and a prominent Santali tribal leader.
