Ration Card in 2026: Apply, Track and Add a Family Member Online

There is no single national apply button — every ration card starts on your state's Food & Civil Supplies portal.

Applying is free under the NFSA; states charge only a small card/stationery fee, usually well under ₹50.

Adding a member needs the head of household's consent plus the new person's Aadhaar — and removal from any old card.

e-KYC is now compulsory to keep getting grain; deadlines vary by state and have been pushed back repeatedly, so check yours.

Track everything with your acknowledgement number on the state portal or the Mera Ration app.
