Bombay HC Quashes One-Time Spectrum Charge on Airtel, Vi

Bombay HC set aside the Centre's one-time spectrum charge demands on Airtel and Vodafone Idea on 8 June 2026.

The levy targeted spectrum held above 6.2 MHz between July 2008 and December 2012.

Court held telecom licences are contractual and the government can't add retrospective charges midway.

Airtel had provisioned over ₹7,000 crore against the dispute; the court ordered bank guarantees returned.

This is separate from the larger AGR dues fight, which still hangs over Vodafone Idea.
