Person of the Day: Hemant Soren, From Student Wing to Three-Time Jharkhand CM

Born 10 August 1975, Hemant Soren joined the JMM in 1994 and led its student wing from 2003.

First won the Barhait Assembly seat in 2005 and briefly served in the Rajya Sabha in 2009.

Became Jharkhand's youngest Chief Minister in 2013 at age 38.

Has now taken oath as CM three times, most recently leading a 56-seat alliance win in 2024.

Flagship schemes include Maiya Samman Yojana cash transfers and Abua Awas housing for the poor.
