Umpire's Call in DRS: Why One Ball Gives Two Answers

Umpire's Call keeps the on-field decision when ball-tracking is too marginal to be certain.
For LBW reviews, more than 50% of the ball must hit the wicket zone to overturn a not-out.
It exists because Hawk-Eye predicts the ball's path and that prediction has a margin of error.
The on-field umpire's original call decides every borderline ball — so two identical tracks can split.
ICC kept it after 2021 review but raised the wicket zone to the top of the stumps.
